As we all knew that Indian Government has selected a Symbol for INR sometime ago in July this year and not more than 3 months from then, the symbol has been made part of the official Unicode Standard by the Unicode Consortium.
The organization officially announced the Unicode Version 6.0 that includes a matter of 2000+ fresh characters and good news is that our Indian Rupee Symbol is one of them. The Unicode Consortium approved the code U+20B9 to the Indian Rupee sign.
However, the font families are not yet upgraded. Once it happened, you can simply use the HTML Code ₹ in your websites to display INR Symbol (or) by Pressing Alt + 20B9 in Word processors.
Meanwhile, you have to download the Rupee Font and Install it in order to use the INR Sign.
