India's Spice Mobile releases M-67 3D

India's Spice Mobile has released a 3D phone that doesn't require special glasses for 3-dimensional viewing. The M-67 3D also comes with a surprisingly low price of around US$97 off-contract.

The M-67 3D utilizes a stereoscopic display, that can easily be switched to 2D mode. It also supports 3D image and video formats. Perhaps the only downside is that the camera is still a standard 2D 2-megapixel camera. But let's not be negative; this is an amazing deal, and a great step towards all devices being 3D-capable.

Other features of the M-67 include dual-SIM capability, MP3 playback, an FM radio with recording capability, a 2.36-inch screen with 240x320 resolution, and stereo Bluetooth. The device will also feature remote wiping ability, through which you can turn off the phone, erase the phonebook, delete your call log, delete messages, format your memory card/phone, and send your business card.

Walgreens offers $99 Android tablet from Maylong

The Walgreens online store now offers a $99 Android tablet, the Maylong M-150. The 7-inch tablet runs Android 1.6, and features Wi-Fi only connectivity.

The tablet, which is a blatant visual imitation of an Apple iPad, is powered by a 400MHz ARM9 processor. It features a 7-inch resistive touchscreen, 256MB of RAM, stereo speakers, and a flash memory slot. The M-150 also has a dongle to allow USB connections.

Physical buttons include a menu/home button on the front, and power and volume switches on the sides. In terms of software, the device includes a full browser, an e-reader app, YouTube, and a media player.

Sprint to put its Sprint ID feature on Samsung Galaxy Tab and Samsung Epic 4G

First introduced on the Samsung Transform, Sprint ID allows the user to download a pre-defined "experience" that includes widgets, ringtones, wallpaper and apps, all at one time. These "packs" can be designed for any activity or programming that a group of people might enjoy. For example, packs are available for the sports fan, the fitness fanatic or the automobile expert. Packs can also be purchased for those who like certain programming, like E!, MTV or ESPN to name a few. Up to 5 can be loaded onto your handset at one time.

At its developer conference on Wednesday night, Sprint announced that Sprint ID will be made part of the Samsung Galaxy Tab at launch on November 14th, and a software upgrade will bring the feature to the Samsung Epic 4G.

Hummingbird on steroids - Samsung Vibrant overclocked to 1.6 stable GHz

We know that the 1GHz Hummingbird chipset in the Samsung Galaxy S and the Samsung Galaxy Tab, is currently the most advanced single core system-on-a-chip in a commercial device. Its graphics subsystem is able to pump up to 90 million triangles per second, leaving everyone else behind. The only thing holding it back is that the phones still run Android 2.1, not the much faster Froyo version.

Well, developers have finally decided to push the envelope regardless, and have overclocked the CPU in a Samsung Vibrant to 1.6GHz, stopping at where it behaved stable. As if that was not enough of an impressive feat, they removed the factory FPS lock, and the Hummingbird on steroids achieved 78 frames per second, compared to the usual 55-60.

T-Mobile G2 users have been bragging about Quadrant synthetic benchmark scores past the 2200 mark, after overclocking it to 1.3GHz. The phone is having the next-gen Snapdragon chipset, which, produced in 45nm, makes for much faster processing speeds than the previous version.

LG Electronics profit takes a dive

Due largely to the 30% drop in revenue from its handset division, the profit margin of LG Electronics has shrunk with the eye-popping 99% in the third quarter of this year. The profit tumble has also been aided by lackluster demand for electronics in Europe and the US. In Q2 LG reported $724.5 million in profits, while for July, August and September the Koreans have eked out just $6.7 million. This figure was probably what forced the management shakeup recently.

The company is fully embracing Android, which has been the lifeline for most everybody but Apple and Nokia, and also aiming to be a premier partner to Microsoft by launching five Windows Phone 7 devices till year-end. The results in the fourth quarter will determine if these moves are successful.

T-Mobile myTouch renamed myTouch 4G, landing November 3 for $199

We just got back from a T-Mobile event where we had a chance to pick up our review units for the T-Mobile myTouch 4G. T-Mobile told us that the device is now officially called the T-Mobile myTouch 4G (as opposed to just the myTouch) and that it will launch on November 3 for $199 with a 2-year T-Mobile contract. The myTouch 4G is an Android 2.2 powered smartphone that runs on T-Mobile's HSPA+ network. Stay tuned for an unboxing, feature tour, and, ultimately, a review.
